I was only 14 at the time, I didn't have a clue

We were caught 'cross the stateline
But he wanted to be home one last time
So we were thrown back to Nebraska
And in Nebraska's where he died

I spent 17 years locked up in my cell
Moved to Michigan for my parole, and all was well
