A Tribute To My Hero - Single

about

Non-album single, released as a tribute to Bruce Springsteen's 71st birthday.

lyrics

September 21st 2001.
In front of the TV, wrapped up in my father's arms.
The night when you first sang to me,
When my memories were born, struck with reality.

Before I learned to speak I sang your songs.
I would sit back in the car, and hum your tapes along.
And when my mom would play your DVD,
I'd strap on to my guitar, and pretend that you were me.

And now, you're pushing 70.
And me, I'm only 20.
But not a day goes by without listening to your advice,
Your stories, your paradise.
You take me racing in the street.

You've seen me grow up each and every day.
Just like my mom and dad, you were one that paved the way.
Paved the way for music, for my life.
With your lyrics I was born, with your lyrics I will die.

Through my city of ruins I see the rising in those western stars.
Driving down Thunder road, I go dancing in the dark.
Slippin' through my glory days, I feel a human touch.
I feel tougher than the rest,
I was born to run.

And now, you're pushing 70.
And me, I'm only 20.
But not a day goes by without listening to your advice,
Your stories, your paradise.
You take me racing in the street.
