Sunday Night

Well one day when we were walking together
Told me 'bout your problems and your stuff
I couldn't help it but laugh, and keep it intact
But you told me the feeling that you felt was rough
Well I called you up on the phone
And I sat down that night outside
Well it hurt me to know, that you were gonna go
And so I put my best in it and lied
I tried to help you as best as I could
Fixing up all that I probably would
But things didn't well, under your spell
And so it was all kept under the hood
And it all fell to that Sunday Night
Drinking beer and trying to keep it alright
But you told me, baby, what I didn't wanna hear you say
And I followed you in
But you told me nothing
And what I was hoping for, simply vanished away
Well days passed and we were left all alone
And through those early August nights I would roam
And what I wanted to say was to not keep you away
And hold you tight across the party foam
But sooner than I thought I found it hard
When my feelings had betrayed what I'd do
For it was not who I thought, who would keep me happy
Instead I found myself thinking of you
I had to talk to somebody else
For I could not longer look at you in the face
I had my hopes way up high, but was looking too shy
And I missed out right on my race
And it all fell to that Sunday Night
Drinking beer and trying to keep it alright
But you told me, baby, what I didn't wanna hear you say
And I followed you in
But you told me nothing
And what I was hoping for, simply vanished away
Sometimes it's hard to let go
All the things that you love so
But when it all comes around it's useless to hold on and fight
In case that you change your mind
I'll be easy to find
Sitting round here and trying to make it alright

Highway One
04:22

The night has fallen and the sky turns dark
All your sorrows feel like they wanna go away
They no longer want to stay
Lyin' in bed in tank top and a pair of jeans
I close my eyes and I feel like in an empty ride
But God's always by my side
I grab my guitar and I just head out
The warmth of the air reflects my soul turning cold
And I'm starting to feel old
I get in the Saab and I turn that rusty key
You get out of Rolle you feel the need to speed and run
When you're driving through Highway One
These bloodshot eyes keep watching me
They make you feel the need to flee
Head down to Churchill's I'll find what I need
Chug it all down and I feel it flow to my feet
The bearded man that I see everyday
He looks at me like he's a little depressed
Doesn't seem either too obsessed
He carries two bags that seem to've been through History
The look in his eyes makes me see the weary kind
It turns my body blind
I turn my head and I keep on headin' straight
I hit the gas and I turn the radio up loud
I feel the need to shout
I look at the car and see the reflection in me
When I get out of here'vrything will be a bunch of fun
But right now I'm stuck on Highway One
These bloodshot eyes keep watching me
They make you feel the need to flee
Head down to Churchill's I'll find what I need
Chug it all down and I feel it flow to my feet

Killing The Working Man
04:51
|

You think all about it and then stay up all night
Thinking about the things that the government could do right
Well don't you worry brother 'cause tomorrow they'll be gone
Thinking about the future and saying that nothing will be wrong
They're just, killing the working man
And they're just, ruining our plans
Tucking yourself in bed worrying 'bout the outer world
Well come on and be happy you've only got one vote girl
You're hurt about the feelings and the pas and the before
But you drop the needle in the box and it'll be taken to the core
Let your voice get tough (boy)
Let your voice sound rough
What if I tell that they're plotting a bigger war
Trying to raise economic levels they're trying to raise the bar
It's not as easy as it sounds, it's not as easy as it looks
It's like if poor man pay rich bills or simply the banker cooks
They're just trying to put us all in the cart
But we are trying to take'em back to the start
Let me tell you the story of what I used to be
Working up my way to the top chained up but mentally free
Now they put their nose in our business and they're fucking it all up
And they're just sitting looking at us, and waiting there like "'Sup!"
If I had the time, if I had the money
If I was at their place would they still find it funny
(If it) was all turned round, if it was all upside down
(If) we were the boss and they were
Rocked would they still let that door be locked?
'Cause everything is bound to change
'Cause it is all real strange
And everything is bound to turn around
So let's all pound (Come on)
You think all about it and then stay up all night
Trying to think about all the things that we could do right
Well don't you worry brother 'cause tomorrow they'll be gone
Thinking about the future and saying that nothing will be wrong
They're just, killing the working man
And they're just, ruining our plans

Everything

We were kids, thinking about life as just one game
We never knew about love and fame
Life simply passed by, and the days just went on
We never soon knew it'd be gone
We lived alone, never let break silent prayers
I'd let myself die through those layers
Let the spirit rise, and the rising sun will soon be ours
We'll die together in our arms
But now that you are gone, life's a bad misery
It's no longer you and me
I can't wait, 'till those days come back again
Woh-ho
Now I can't think of anything but you in life
Now I can't think of what has been derived
Of the words you spoke and the moves you'd floke
'Cause you're my everything
Now remember those times,
When we were young and the world seemed to be ours
Woh-ho
Full of happiness, and joy but nothing else
It's all gone now
Remember when we spoke, a thousand languages never got tired
When we were lost when we were fired
Being in a world of black and white,
Turning 'em all into shades of grey
Life was just a game
Now the world has changed, never it'll be back again
Woh-ho
Running through the yard, it'll never be the same
Woh-ho
Now I can't think of anything but you in life
Now I can't think of what has been derived
Of the words you spoke and the moves you'd floke
'Cause you're my everything

The Godfather
04:55

I met him down on a Saturday evening,
Past the mountains, outside the city
Rain was pouring down, I made my way into the smoky bar
It was getting late so I ordered a beer while I waited
And then the lights went dim,
The doors opened wide, and he was standing afar.
And then I watched him play his legendary shows
In the bars in the inner city, especially in the Honky Tonks
And after many failed attempts, he got somewhere along the way
But after years of trying hard, it would, uh, pay up any day
He started calling me his Godson,
Started teaching everything he'd know
And he would fiddle the six-strings and
I would just sit there amazed and blown
And he would quote my heroes, teaching me how to rightly bluff
He said, "Son, this world is rough,
And if you wanna make it, you've gotta be tough."
And then I watched him play his legendary shows
In the bars in the inner city, especially in the Honky Tonks
And after many failed attempts, he got somewhere along the way
But after years of trying hard, it would, uh, pay up any day
I quietly thought
To keep it strong
As he led me
Down the road
I flew back to Switzerland with a new thought on my mind
I had to think about my writing and unwind
And as the days grew longer, my nights started to weep
Soon country music wasn't enough, I had to worry about my sleep
And then I watched him play his legendary shows
In the bars in the inner city, especially in the Honky Tonks
And after many failed attempts, he got somewhere along the way
And after years of trying hard, it would, uh, pay up any day
And then I watched him play his legendary shows
In the bars in the inner city, especially in the Honky Tonks
And I held my head up high, knowing what he really felt
As he slipped away a tear, as he achieved the best of myself
And then I watched him play his legendary shows
In the bars in the inner city, especially in the Honky Tonks
And I held my head up high, knowing what he really felt
As he slipped away a tear, as he achieved the best of myself
